The Skill Rank system at PULSEpx is designed to ensure that photographers of similar abilities compete against each other, enhancing fairness and enjoyment in our Quests. Here’s how it works:
How Skill Ranks Function:
- Progress and Development: Your Skill Rank changes based on your performance in Quests. Achieve higher rankings in Quests to increase your Skill Rank; your rank will decrease if your Quest performance does not fare as well.
- Ranks and Tiers: Skill Ranks range from C (beginner) to A (advanced), with three sub-ranks in each (e.g., C1, C2, C3). Excelling in lower ranks advances you to higher ranks, allowing you to compete in more challenging Quests.
- Competing at Your Level: New photographers may start at Skill Rank C, competing in C tier Quests with peers who have similar experience. As your skills improve and you gather more experience, you could advance to Skill Rank B or even A, competing alongside seasoned photographers.
Goals of the Skill Rank System:
- Equal Opportunities: To ensure every photographer, regardless of their experience level, has a fair chance to win Quests.
- Tracking Progress: To offer photographers a clear pathway for growth, enabling you to see your improvement over time as you climb through different Skill Ranks.
By participating in PULSEpx’s Quests and improving your photography, you can watch your progress and aspire to reach the top of the leaderboard, all the while competing in a fair and supportive environment.
